This characterful, but virtually derelict Victorian villa demanded a total refurbishment. The challenge was to create a modern home while still maintaining the building’s original charm. The project included extensive structural remodelling, and we removed the entire rear section of the house, replacing it with an 8 metre deep double height extension.
We also remodelled the family living space, adding a light-flooded 13m x 8m kitchen, and creating two further bedrooms, and en-suites in the previously un-used loft space. The Victorian character of the property was maintained with artful use of lead roof cladding across the new rear extension.
